Christopher Alexander
A Pattern Language; living structure.
Christopher Alexander (1936–2022) was an architect and professor emeritus at the University of California, Berkeley. He authored 'A Pattern Language' (1977), a seminal work cataloguing 253 recurring design solutions for towns, buildings, and spaces. His later 'The Nature of Order' series expanded this into a theory of living structure, arguing that wholeness and life are measurable properties of both built and natural forms.
