Georges Doriot
ARDC; the original VC playbook (legacy)
French-American professor at Harvard Business School and founder of American Research and Development Corporation (ARDC), launched in 1946. ARDC's landmark investment in Digital Equipment Corporation (DEC) returned thousands of times its original stake, proving the venture model. Doriot codified the hands-on, mentor-investor approach that became the template for modern venture capital.
