Jared Kaplan is a professor of physics at Johns Hopkins University and co-founder of Anthropic. He co-authored 'Scaling Laws for Neural Language Models' (2020) at OpenAI, a paper that reshaped how the field approaches model development by showing performance scales predictably with compute, data, and parameters. That work underpins much of modern large-language-model strategy.
