Joseph M. Juran (1904–2008) was a Romanian-born American engineer and management consultant who spent decades advising corporations and governments on quality systems. He authored the seminal Quality Control Handbook (1951) and advised Japanese industry post-war, helping shape the quality revolution. He is best known for applying the Pareto principle to management—the 'vital few vs. trivial many' concept—and for founding the Juran Institute.
