Judea Pearl
causal inference; "The Book of Why"
Professor Emeritus of Computer Science at UCLA and a Turing Award laureate (2011). He developed Bayesian networks for probabilistic reasoning and later the structural causal model framework underpinning modern causal inference. His book 'The Book of Why' (2018, with Dana Mackenzie) brought the science of causation to a general audience.
