Kent Beck is a software engineer and author, widely credited with formalising TDD and founding Extreme Programming in the late 1990s. His track record includes seminal works such as 'Test Driven Development: By Example' and the 2023 book 'Tidy First?', which frames incremental code tidying as a precursor to behaviour changes. He has consulted across major technology organisations and was an early signatory of the Agile Manifesto.
