Professor Emerita of Economics at Iowa State University, where she built her career studying computational and evolutionary approaches to economic systems. She is credited with founding and systematising the ACE research programme, which applies agent-based modelling to study decentralised market processes. Her work has been especially influential in the study of restructured electricity markets.
