Professor at Yale University, where he directs the Human Nature Lab and the Yale Institute for Network Science. His empirical work demonstrated that obesity, happiness, and smoking cessation propagate across social ties up to three degrees of separation. Co-authored Connected (2009) with James Fowler, the book that popularised social-network contagion theory for general audiences.
