Peter Checkland
Soft Systems Methodology.
Emeritus Professor at Lancaster University, where he spent his career developing and refining his ideas in systems thinking. He created Soft Systems Methodology, a cyclical learning process that uses rich pictures and conceptual models to help organisations understand and improve messy, human-activity situations. His foundational text, 'Systems Thinking, Systems Practice' (1981), remains a core reference in applied systems thinking.
