Robert Axtell
Sugarscape; firm-size distributions.
Robert Axtell is a professor at George Mason University's Computational Social Science programme. He co-developed Sugarscape with Joshua Epstein, a landmark agent-based model demonstrating how complex social phenomena emerge from simple rules. His empirical work on firm-size distributions showed they follow a power law, a finding with broad implications for economics and complexity theory.
