Sam Zell

Sam Zell was founder and chairman of Equity Group Investments, a Chicago-based private investment firm spanning real estate, energy, and transport. He built one of the largest commercial property portfolios in the US and sold Equity Office Properties to Blackstone in 2007 for $39 billion, near the market peak. He died in May 2023.
