Aave; lending-as-money-market protocol design

Stani Kulechov is the founder and CEO of Aave, a decentralised, non-custodial liquidity protocol built on Ethereum. He launched the project as ETHLend in 2017 before pivoting to the pool-based money-market architecture that became Aave. The protocol popularised flash loans — uncollateralised loans settled within a single transaction block — and grew into one of the largest DeFi lending platforms by total value locked.
