Charles Hoskinson

Cardano / IOHK: peer-reviewed L1 + treasury model

Charles Hoskinson is CEO of Input Output Global (IOG, formerly IOHK), the research and engineering firm behind the Cardano blockchain. He co-founded Ethereum before leaving to build Cardano, a proof-of-stake L1 distinguished by peer-reviewed cryptographic research and an on-chain treasury model for decentralised funding. He is best known for the Ouroboros protocol family and the thesis that formal methods and academic rigour should underpin production blockchain infrastructure.
