Geoffrey Parker
Platform Revolution, multi-sided platform mechanics
Geoffrey Parker is a professor at Dartmouth's Thayer School of Engineering, where he researches platform economics and digital strategy. He co-authored 'Platform Revolution' (2016) with Marshall Van Alstyne and Sangeet Paul Choudary, which codified how platform businesses create value by facilitating interactions between two or more distinct user groups. His earlier academic work with Van Alstyne on two-sided networks laid the analytical groundwork for understanding firms such as Uber, Airbnb, and Apple's App Store.
