Jean-Charles Rochet is a French economist, professor at the University of Geneva and Toulouse School of Economics. He is best known for co-authoring seminal papers with Nobel laureate Jean Tirole that formalised two-sided market theory, showing how platforms must balance pricing across distinct user groups. He has also contributed significantly to the economics of banking regulation and systemic risk.
