David Sandler founded Sandler Training in 1967 after experiencing frustration with conventional high-pressure sales techniques. He developed a consultative methodology centred on the 'pain funnel,' upfront contracts, and disqualifying poor-fit prospects early. His approach, codified in the Sandler Selling System, became one of the most widely adopted sales frameworks globally and continues through the Sandler Training franchise network after his death in 1995.
