Working Identity, Act Like a Leader
Herminia Ibarra holds a chair in organisational behaviour at London Business School, where she studies how adults develop as leaders and navigate career change. Her book Working Identity challenged the idea that self-reflection precedes action, arguing instead that identity shifts through experimentation. Act Like a Leader, Think Like a Leader extended this with the 'outsight' principle: that new perspectives come from doing, not introspection.
