Jim Collins
built-to-last / *Good to Great*, *How the Mighty Fall*
Collins runs an independent management research laboratory in Boulder, Colorado, where he studies what makes companies endure and excel. His book *Good to Great* (2001), built from a six-year study of eleven companies, introduced concepts such as the Hedgehog Concept and the Flywheel that became staples of corporate strategy. Earlier work *Built to Last* (co-authored with Jerry Porras) examined visionary companies, while *How the Mighty Fall* analysed the stages of organisational decline.
