Masaaki Imai is the founder of the Kaizen Institute, a global consultancy applying continuous-improvement principles across industries. He authored 'Kaizen: The Key to Japan's Competitive Success' (1986), which brought the concept to international prominence, and followed it with 'Gemba Kaizen' (1997), focusing improvement efforts on the actual workplace where value is created.
