Baidu: search-to-AI pivot, Apollo autonomous platform bet

Robin Li co-founded Baidu in 2000 and serves as its chairman and CEO. Under his direction, Baidu pioneered Chinese-language search and has since repositioned the company around large language models—most visibly through the Ernie Bot product—and the Apollo open autonomous-vehicle platform, one of the largest such ecosystems globally.
