Sergio Ermotti is Group CEO of UBS, a post he first held 2011–2020 and resumed in April 2023 specifically to manage the state-brokered rescue of Credit Suisse. He oversaw one of the most complex bank integrations in history, absorbing a rival of comparable scale while managing capital ratios, job cuts, and regulatory scrutiny across dozens of jurisdictions. The deal transformed UBS into a firm managing roughly $5 trillion in invested assets.
