Professor of finance at the UC Davis Graduate School of Management. His collaborative research with Terrance Odean produced landmark studies on how overconfidence drives excessive trading and erodes retail investor returns. Best known for the paper 'Boys Will Be Boys: Gender, Overconfidence, and Common Stock Investment', which linked male overconfidence to higher turnover and lower net returns.
