Her research established that distinct emotions—such as anger versus fear—produce reliably different effects on risk perception, policy preference, and negotiation, challenging the older positive/negative valence model. She is best known for the Appraisal Tendency Framework, which maps how cognitive appraisals embedded in emotions carry over to shape unrelated decisions.
