Jennifer Lerner
emotion and judgment.
Professor at Harvard Kennedy School and the Department of Psychology, Harvard University. Her research established that distinct emotions—such as anger versus fear—produce reliably different effects on risk perception, policy preference, and negotiation, challenging the older positive/negative valence model. She is best known for the Appraisal Tendency Framework, which maps how cognitive appraisals embedded in emotions carry over to shape unrelated decisions.
